 FARI BRADLEY: an Iranian-born sound artist, composer and arts-broadcaster. After studying Italian language, phonetics, film and history at University College London, a City & Guilds in Journalism led Bradley to working with experimental radio and digital audio formats. At Resonance104.4fm since 2004, Bradley performed live-improv and composed graphic scores with the Resonance Radio Orchestra, formed Parstronix a collection of Iranian improv performers and ran several weekly, live broadcast series on arts and experimental music.

Lives and works: UK and UAE.



Solo Work:
Using found objects and hand-made electronics Bradley creates sculptures, installations, performances and radio transmissions.  Works exhibited at Raven Row, London, Princes Galleries, London.

As Sound-Art Duo Bradley-Weaver, with Chris Weaver, solo and groups shows at Maraya Arts Centre, Sharjah and Tashkeel, Dubai, UAE

As a Quartet making electro-acoustic, experimental improv Oscillatorial Binnage, appearing in The Wire music magazine's Under the Radar compilation release.

Composer and Improvising Performer: commissions include London Architecture Week, Victoria and Albert Museum and South London Gallery. 

Artist Commissions as Bradley-Weaver include Al Serkal Avenue, Art Dubai 2015 and Frieze Projects, Falgoosh Radio, an arts-radio installation at Art Dubai 2013-2014 that experiments in listening, discussion and broadcast formats. Talks given include Beirut Arts Centre, American University Dubai, University of the Arts London, Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Habib University, Karachi and New York University Abu Dhabi.

Artist Commissions Solo: musical performances include National Portrait Gallery, London Architecture Week and ICA London.
 
Resident Artist: Bradley completed artist's residencies such as an Embedded Residency for a cine film installation using on Iranian home movies from the 1970s, awarded by Sound and Music, the UK body for sound art and composition. Other residencies include the Lahore Biennial Foundation, New York University Abu Dhabi and Malja Studios, Bahrain.

Composer
Commissions for music, ensembles and performances have come from the V and A Museum, The London Mela (twice as the commissioned artist), Resonance Radio Orchestra and Frieze Projects. Sound works are here.

Broadcasts: on UK's arts-radio station Resonance104.4FM, since 2004 a speech and experimental weekly music show about art and culture from the Middle East, North Africa and Asia on 'Six Pillars'. Since 2006 Bradley has researched experimental and fringe dance music genres for her weekly broadcast 'Free Lab Radio' on Resonance104.4FM. She has DJ’d in venues from museums (National Portrait Gallery, ICA London) to art galleries and international music festivals such as Glastonbury, Exit Festival - Serbia and Bestival.
