Sound Art Talk - Visual Cultures Forum, American University Dubai

Chris Weaver and I will be speaking about our practise as placed within the longer history of sound art and performance this Sunday, 6.30pm at the American University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Artists we refer to in our current show at Tashkeel, Systems for a Score, are Robert Filliou, a fluxus artist who exhibited on large rolls of cloth and created Musique télépathique, 1976.

We also reference live radio broadcasts we've conducted with Resonance104.4FM in The Serpentine gallery, London during Ririkrit Tirivanija's exhibition 2005, Tate Modern for a UBS Weekend 2007, and years of live arts broadcasting, complete with happenings and performances, from within a booth at Frieze Art Fair (2005-10). We will scope our our long experience of improvised sounds, and link it with the limited edition vinyl of collaborations with local artists and musicians, that releases this March with The Vinyl Factory, at Art Dubai 2015.

The exhibition Systems for a Score continues until February 14th, with a live, improvised drawing and sound performance on February 10th at 7.30pm
