This will be my fourth Mela. Last year as the commissioned artist, I was asked to pay tribute to Freddy Mercury who was like me, of Iranian origin, educated for a while in India, and then lived in UK. So it was that we ended up on the Robert Elms show, BBC London, playing a snippet of what was to come. It's an amusing interview, hopefully it will be dug out and posted here soon (!).This year I'm much freer to do as I please, so will be singing persian poems in English, Sanskrit drum and bass and hindi soundclash.
We've been listed in: Time Out, the London Paper...no time to look about for more though!
