Well, America has it's good spots, that's for sure. Probably best described as the ones we don't see on tv, Ive been to organic superstores and seen Treasure Island, plush green distant spot, from the bay bridge...and walked in San Francisco's streets wide and serenely accommodating that they are. A Persian I met let me interview her as we walked, on the high level of homelessness in the streets and I even got sound bytes from a homeless newspaper seller. It's bigger, cleaner with a lot more natural landscape than London. No jostling. Where is the comfort and joy in London central, as you bump your way to a shop entrance to give up your earnings in exchange for tokens of love or tokens of seasonal pressure... Co-host for the Shelectronica show, Lydia has summed it up here, a piece of distorted serenity amongst the jostle of a city's feedback.

WTBTN LIVE PERFORMANCE SERIES & RELATED EVENTS (DEC 2006)
UBUIBI recently hosted a 3-day live experimental music series (December 8-10, 2006) that featured a worldwide selection of artists from the Women Take Back The Noise compilation.
Each night of performance focused on one of the themes from the 3-disc collection: ORGONAUTA, SCHEHERAZADE & VOCIFEROUS featuring works by the artists in their own unique style & interpretation, reflecting the mood of each theme.
The event was at 21Grand Arts Space (Oakland CA) and was co-presented by KUSF radio (San Francisco CA). There were several other live events that corresponded with the live series, including a showcase evening of performances at Luggage Store Gallery (San Francisco CA) and live radio performances on local bay area stations KUSF, KFJC, KPFA and in the UK on Resonance FM, hosted by Fari Bradley, who is also one of the 47 artists on the WTBTN compilation.
